Buckeye BBC: Meet our President

Name:  Rick Knutsen

Hometown: Martins Ferry Ohio

What key factors have contributed to your personal and professional success as an entrepreneur? Failing.  I have failed more times than the average person and I feel like that helps me be successful.

Obviously, we all make mistakes… what is the most valuable “mistake” lesson you have learned? I use to have a difficult time listening to my coaches.  I always wanted to find a better way of doing things and I have finally realized that I should just listen to them.

What are you passionate about? What do you like to do? I am passionate about helping others reach their goals.  I am a big believer in the more people I help reach their goal the more successful I will be.

What key aspects of your daily routine drive your personal and professional success? Work ethic. I simply out work the competition.

What aspects of your own personal leadership are you continuing to develop and work on? Currently I am reading “Whale Done” by Kenneth Blanchard.  It’s about the power of positive relationships in the work place.

Where do you see the company headed and how do you plan to achieve these goals? Our clients want us to expand 4 more times in the next 12 months.  We plan on expanding to Nashville, Raleigh, Phoenix, and Miami.

Favorite quote, business-related book, motivational leader, etc…
My favorite quote is “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
My favorite business related book is probably “Open” by Andre Agassi.
My favorite motivational leader is Lou Holtz.

Colon Cancer Awareness Month: Buckeye BBC

Buckeye BBC WEARS BLUE! #blueforbarb Annually on the first Friday of March, the entire colon cancer community nationwide unites around the color BLUE! We have decided to show our support this year and also support our good friend and mentor Barb.  Similar to breast cancer’s pink ribbon, the nationally-recognized blue star represents the eternal memory of the people whose lives have been lost to the disease and the shining hope for a future free of colon cancer. Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States and the second leading cause of cancer death. But it doesn’t have to be this way; through screening, it is one of the most preventable diseases. By our community rising up to knock out colon cancer – we can make a huge impact! Do your part to show support, get tested, and knock it out!
