Colon Cancer Awareness Month: Buckeye BBC

Buckeye BBC
WEARS BLUE! #blueforbarb

Annually on the first Friday of March, the entire colon cancer community nationwide unites around the color BLUE! We have decided to show our support this year and also support our good friend and mentor Barb.  Similar to breast cancer’s pink ribbon, the nationally-recognized blue star represents the eternal memory of the people whose lives have been lost to the disease and the shining hope for a future free of colon cancer.

Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States and the second leading cause of cancer death. But it doesn’t have to be this way; through screening, it is one of the most preventable diseases. By our community rising up to knock out colon cancer – we can make a huge impact!

Do your part to show support, get tested, and knock it out!

Buckeye BBC Holiday Party

Here at Buckeye BBC our company culture and ideals of both personal and professional development of each of our team members is what makes us different from most companies.  We value everyone on our team and make it our mission for them to grow as people and with our company.  We encourage our team members' philanthropic interests and promote and help them in anyway we can.  We have a true family feel in our company both inside and outside the office. A big part of that includes our office holiday parties!

We want to thank our President, Rick for opening his home for our annual office holiday party.  Everyone enjoyed a great meal and white elephant gift exchange.  We also had our final donations that day for the families we adopted for the holidays and our donations for the local animal shelter.  Thanks so much to everyone who donated.

'Tis the season to give back!

'The Intern' Offers Workplace Lessons For Millennials and Baby Boomers

Nancy Meyer's new movie "The Intern" -- her first in six years -- has moments that are nothing short of slapstick.

In one hilarious and unforgettable scene, Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway) accidentally sends an email to her mother. In the subject line: "Her," and the body: "Why is my mother such a raging bitch?" In attempt to conduct damage repair, the founder, working mother, and hallmark Brooklynite teams up with her 70-year old intern (Robert De Niro) to break into her mother's house and steal the computer.  Of course, such antics feel jarring in a movie that's primarily about an e-commerce startup, but the scene brings up questions about the inter-generational conflicts that are as real as they are critical to modern workplaces.  Meyers has famously centered many of her films around women (often, middle-aged), and has received multiple Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for hits like "Private Benjamin," "The Parent Trap…
